Retighten the top two wires. Shift the last wire to the side and retighten it. Clip the end as short as you can without breaking the wire off.
And now for the fun part! Dab Duco cement all over the reed from the second wire down, but don't overdo it. Pick any color thread you want and start wrapping a mass of thread around the third wire. Don't worry about how much you should use, just eyeball it and eventually you will be able to gauge how much you really need.
The Turk's Knot Once you finish making the padding over the third wire, it's time to start the Turk's Knot. Continue wrapping but let the thread follow a path to the top of the bundle. Let the thread catch on to the top and continue to the bottom. Let the thread catch on the bottom like it did on the top and continue this loop until you get to a stopping point- it's really up to you because the knot itself is mainly just decoration.
Continue wrapping straight up the reed shaft- no fancy knots, just wrap it around the reed until you get to te second wire. Tie it off. Coat the threaded parts in Duco cement and set it on the drying rack for at least 24 hours.
