To construct a series of model light plots in order to acquire
proficiency in the field of digital drafting.
- What exactly do you want to study? Be as explicit as you can, including a schedule if possible.
The aim of this is to create a coherent set of lighting plots to add to
my Plan portfolio. I intend to create digital representations of both
shows I have worked on in the past and of works in progress, using
digital drafting as a means of organizing and making coherent to others
my thought process regarding lighting design.
The intent is to study the use of a program called SketchUp 6, with a
tutorial meeting on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30, with further work to
be accomplished outside of class.
- How does this relate to your plan and/or other course work?
As per the description of the the aim of this tutorial, this relates to
my Plan work by expanding my portfolio and my list of skills necessary to
operate in the field of lighting design.
- What resources have you identified? (e.g. books, articles, websites, experience, ...)
SketchUp comes with its own set of guides and help files, which
presumably we shall use to hone our skills.
- What will be the gradeable products, and on what schedule?(e.g. projects, programs, papers, tests, ...)
The completion of a set of exercises pertaining to the aim of creating
lighting plots in this program.
