April 12

I asked Noah about Bash scripting, and he said that I should do that in Python or Pearl, rather than in bash as a language - Seams reasonable to me.
He helped me update my kernel to 3.4 from 3.2 and edit grub settings to always give all the boot options.
We messed with Xnest, which was pretty cool.
Noah also showed me a very cool way to reboot my system (which I probably won't have to do now that I upgraded my kernel): wikipedia: Magic SysRq key - basically talking directly to the bios to send the signals to shutdown safely, or do other things.
