distributed version control - git

• start reading about git and git tools for your OS
  • (http://git-scm.com/ is a reasonable place to start.)
• get a github.com account and let me know what your username is
  • (there are tutorials there too about setting up and using git, i.e. https://help.github.com/articles/set-up-git)
  • you'll likely want to set up the "ssh key" method of authentication - see https://help.github.com/articles/generating-ssh-keys , or use google to find more info, or ask for help

palindromes or anagrams

• one more "warm up" coding project before Tron: palindromes or anagrams
  • first find a dictionary of words (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Words_(Unix) ) and be able to read it into a program.
  • then with individual or pairs or triples (your choice depending on your experience), write a program to look for either anagrams of a given word or phrase or palindromes.
• Yes, it's an open ended assignment - poke around and see what make of it.
