nick's week
- feb 26
- started looking at practicals aimed towards making artificial sounds. Using the same structure as the patch that recreated the street crossing sound, I created a patch that emulates the sound of a microwave oven beeping.
- feb 27
- started looking into the section about phone tones, made a patch that combined the dial tone and the ringing tone so that when the dial tone is on, the ringing tone is off, and vice versa.
- made another version that includes the pulse dial patch and stops ringing after a certain amount of time. Dial a number and hear the phone ring for a few seconds!
lysha's week
- I mostly dug in and worked on the "Lifeforms" section of the practicals, and most specifically the insects portion. I created a cricket, a cicada and a housefly. I then put them all together into one program as subpatches. The examples were pretty solid state, but I played around and made them tinker-able a little bit more. If given time I would add more bugs and/or animals and create a whole scene. This all felt really useful and easily decipherable and...well, practical.
- For my mid-term next week I am planning on putting together all the different types of synthesis that we have gone over so far into one play-able synth, complete with MIDI implementation and multiple oscillators and functionalities.
