Chris

Before moving forward with actual programming, I felt the need since our last meeting to solidy my conceptual/mathematical understanding of Fourier transforms in general, and the DFT/FFT in particular. So, although I have not had a chance to play around with the built-in Python versions of these (or code my own FFT, for that matter), the result of this recent work is a set of notes that I have attached below. They are primarily for my own use (both as a quick reference, and because forcing myself to explain/write about a concept in my own words is often the best/only way for me to understand it), but also I wanted you to see that I have in fact been doing work since we last met!
