This week I marked up all the kids computers with their names while nate hooked the internet up throughout the building. the reason we divided our efforts like this is simply because his handwriting is illegible. So I got stuck doing the stupid administrative work simply because I was making up for a mans ineptitude, while he got to learn...again.

In lectures,he helps get github s et up but I'm actually the one responsible for talking the entire time because he can't figure out how to turn around and face the kids as he talks, and pretty much the moment get gets up there he confuses them.

I continuously f eel like the dirty work is left to me because as a female I have overall better communication skills and broader administrative abilities. Vs Nate who has lived his whole life being able to focus on (being pretty? being a good cook? learning to shave? no..video games and competitive sports)..

So I'm trying to figure out how to stay empowered while working with a man who can do little else but the actual fun, learning tasks of the job and sometimes it feels defeating. I just need to remind myself that getting the opportunity to teach at all, it was nescessary to have two people helping each other, I feel sorry for the chumps at the school with 20 kids and full-time hours and no help with their classrooms. Would be infintely more stressful if nate didin't show up early to set up as I get in from boston, and its nice to have a fallback when ones skills fall short. We can't be all things after all. For now I'll just satisfy myself with getting from it w hat I can and making sure he takes care of whatever administrative tasks he actually can handle, like the printing or something.

I'm learning how to project my voice and speak confidently about code to a bunch of people in a dark room, I think this is going to prove to be a pretty valuable skill and will at least take the fangs out of the interviewing process so I'm happy to be doing this, esp for 40 dollars an hour and so I can help my friend and work with my best friend.
