First, discuss the homework.
The goal this week is to cover the material in chap 10 & 11 in the textbook, which are a prelude to looking at various specific ML techniques.
It would also be a good time to explore what's on the kaggle.com site, as a place to find data to play with, examples of jupyter notebooks that do this stuff, and tutorials.
And it would be good to browse through wikipedia's machine learning page as another starting place for the various methods.
