Project Mission Statement

Every action is an environmental action. While the repercussions of these actions can be complex, it is important to analyze and compare them. This report examines the relationship between the Marlboro College community and the environment. The college's performance is assessed over eight areas of importance: land use and infrastructure, waste, water, materials and purchasing, food, transportation, energy, and education and institutional commitment. We calculate amalgamated measures such as ecological footprint and greenhouse gas emissions. The goals of this project are to increase awareness about Marlboro's environmental impact and suggest ways in which Marlboro could improve upon its current practices. We hope that our report will encourage continued data measurement and ultimately lead to better resource use.
