Alex Hiam (October 12th)
Summary:
Near the beginning of this past summer I started a year-long internship with the Neural Systems Group at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. I have been working as a Research Assistant on a project entitled Distributed Systems for Spaceflight Biomedical Support, funded by the National Space Biomedical Research Institute, to develop a prototype system for automated multi-protocol, multi-sensor monitoring of the mental and physical health of astronauts, and the real-time, remote access of said data by means of a web-based GUI. My task has been to develop the software which automatically connects to any number of sensors and streams their data.
