blurb

This course will look at the acoustics and math behind computer sound processing (particularly the Fourier Transform), explore some audio software tools (such as PureData), and code some sound manipulations (probably in C).
Some music, math, and/or coding background is a prerequisite. We will be using elements of calculus, linear algebra, complex numbers, computer programming, and physics. Some of these topics you may be able to learn from scratch here, depending on your background.
There's a good chance this may run more as a group tutorial (i.e. student explorations and sharing) than a course (i.e. Jim explaining).
If you're interested do come to the intro where we will discuss specifically the topics the level will be.
