Food Committee
This committee was started to look at the food service on campus and how we as students and faculty can impact how people relate to food, the dining hall, and kitchen staff in a constructive way. Our hope is that by working collaboratively we can gain mutual respect while creating change for

Issues
- Kitchen Staff -- Part of what students are unaware of in the preparation of our food is the kitchen staff is a subcontracted company working through the school. What this means is that they are members of the larger community that come to supply us with a service. They are given X amount of money each semester. On their limited budget they are trying to supply Marlboro with healthy food. Along with budget issues they are also working under limited space and available resources.
- Students -- The food service is set up to provide you with healthy well rounded meals while still trying to create a sense of community. There are many complaints regarding the food on campus. If you want change come talk to the food committee.
Buying Local
- The dinning hall plans to buy produce from the Marlboro College Victory Garden this summer. This is a huge step towards becoming (very slightly) more environmentally sustainable as an institution, while helping the farm become more financially sustainable. The kitchen staff is also willing to look into other venues to buy locally, what they need from you is support. Voice your concern in a constructive way. Last semester there was a school wide survey regarding the food, its quality and changes that needed to be made. Check out the results.
