Everything opened and turned on fine. GPS fix was all good. Two-star alignment was successful, and honestly went pretty smoothly. Unfortunately, alignment did not hold through the power down test, and was off by about 90 degrees. We called it a night there.
Possible theory: the Autostar may have some sort of dime battery which it uses to track date and time which has burned out, and might be throwing the alignment off during power down. We brought the autostar with us to take a closer look at it later.
