What do you need to do if I accept your proposal for a tutorial?

Tutorials require you to be in charge of the material, and to prepare and lead the weekly meetings. We will probably meet not more than once a week, the meeting will mostly be: a review of the work you have done, a discussion of difficult points, and planning for the future. It is of extreme importance that you lean to organize your work during the week, it is not enough to get ready for a tutorial at the last minute. Each week you should cover enough material (analyzed in depth) to justify the number of credits we agreed on.
To effectively use our time together, I need to get ready for our meetings. It is your responsibility to let me know "my homework" in a reasonable time. I would like to do the reading you are doing, or at least the reading you think will be relevant for our discussion, and I will need time to do so. For this reason each meeting we should agree about what we are going to do for the following one. If during the week you find a valuable source that I should read and that I'm not aware of, you should communicate it to me ASAP. If you solved exercises I prefer to have them before the meeting, so that I have the time to correct them.
Tutorials put a lot of responsibility on your shoulders, for this reason here is a list of some steps you should follow to structure your tutorial (there is a list for each kind of tutorial). Make a draft of each of the points listed here and we will discuss them in detail at out first meeting. I hope that this will help you to not get lost in this process. I'm open to help you and to guide you in the process, especially if this is your first tutorial. Do one step at a time and if you feel lost and overwhelmed come talk with me.
For each student having a tutorial with me I will set up a wiki-page. You should write weekly in the journal describing the work done by you during the week, the topics we discussed in our meeting, and anything else you find useful to record for future memory.
