A sine wave braid inlay in the top of a woodbox.
The top, bottom, and sides of the box are oak boards from HomeDepot, fastened together with biscuit joints into wider pieces.
I created the pattern for the braid with three offset sine waves with gaps in a numerical python jupyter notebook.
The braids are carved from 1/8" thick hardwood boards, which you can find for example in the inventable's materials shop.
