There's an example where the textbook uses this concept of fractional degrees of freedom - which isn't particularly easy to understand - as I don't have a very firm grasp of it to start with.

forgot to save this last time I wrote this out.

I started reading ch2 of the systems textbook and discovered the chapter is 100p long so I won't have skimmed all of 2/ part of 3 by tomorrow - not sure exactly how much I'll get to yet. Probably just 2 while dipping deeper at a couple points.

Yes, there are lots of pages in the systems book. It covers a lot of stuff, only some of which we'll want to dive into deeply.
