Planted second crop of Beets over Labor Day weekend Summer squash still producing Cucumbers beginning to fade out

Summer 2011

Planted:

May

20- Beets (mixed seeds)and carrots (red, purple, Nantes) from seed, shallots, and onions from bulbs
25- Raised Beds made: added Lime, Blood, Rock Phosphate, Potash, Compost and Manure
26- Potatoes planted: mixed reds and Katadyn white
31- Winter squash and cucumbers

June

2- Kale! Redbore, Dinosaur, Mixed
6- Leeks, watermellon, basil, more kale, peppers (mostly hot), broccolli(from starts), eggplant, squash (pumpkins, hubbard) 7- Leeks, more carrots
8- Tomatoes
9- Cherry Tomatoes
19- Nasturtiums
23- Summer squash (mixed)

Potato Beetle attack!!

July

4- Replanted beets
All July - WEEDING!!!
Harvested Garlic mid-July, when tops browned out

21-28: Harvested potatoes, summer squash, cucumbers Planted fall greens

January

31st Compost is Frozen... excavations are underway.

Februray

1st week Compost work continues. Hot peppers ready to harvest. Garden planning beginning.

Fall 2010

There is a farm work day every Wednesday afternoon, except for Town Meeting days.

August

Farm Bridges Trip

September

Harvested tomatoes, kale, chard, tons of basil

October

Harvested tomatoes, kale, chard, basil, onions, pumpkins, a few squash, beans

November

Harvested last tomatoes, kale, chard, basil, onions, pumpkins, a few beans, leeks, carrots, some greens.
Planted garlic in third tier.
Moved hot peppers into the greenhouse.
Fought with compost.
First Frost killed the tomatoes and basil.

December

Harvested hot peppers.
Everything hit with a bad frost, even the kale has died.

30: starting - winter squash, pumpkins, sunflowers

7: starting- cucumbers, melons, basil; planting outside - lettuce, kale, chard, carrots, beets, celery, mustard,peas, radish, spinach
14: Planting outside: potatoes, onions, leeks, dill
