intro class

An open-ended DIY course for building a few arduino projects. (Show one; discuss what it is.)
Nominal 2 credits.
Meet once a week to discuss, share notes, do some work.
Requires that you get your own tools and materials; I will provide examples and online pointers. Expected cost is $50 - $100 depending on the project you choose, which tools you already have, etc.
Will involve some minimal programming, though you should be able to learn what you need as we go along.
We will start with basic circuit stuff: volts, amps, ohms, soldering, etc
An arduino-based 3D printer will be here soon, both so we can see how it works, and use it to create pieces for projects.
Two major deadlines: one at midterm and one at end of term, for completed devices including documentation: a paper description, photos, video - that sort of stuff.
Collaboration is OK, but we'll have to discuss how the group work will be evaluated in those cases.
First assignment is posted; look at it and browse resources
Discuss; take questions.
